Do you have some left over misal ?? Try making dahi misal as an evening snack the next day. It tastes really delicious. You can of course enjoy it this way when it is freshly made. Here is the recipe.
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Ingredients:
- For moong curry:
- 1 cup sprouted & boiled green moong (Soak green moong in water overnight. Remove the water from moong completely. Cover the moong in a damp cloth for around 24 hours. You will see sprouts to the moong. Steam cook the moong or pressure cook it until 1 whistle)
- 1/2 cup boiled potato
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1 onion chopped
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 4-5 curry leaves
- A pinch of asafetida
- A pinch of turmeric
- 2-3 green chilies
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- Oil
- For garnish:
- 1/2 cup yogurt with 1/2 tea spn chaat masala & salt in it.
- Sev
- 1 small Onion finely chopped
- 1 tomato finely chopped
- Coriander

Method:
- Heat a little oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds. When they splutter, add cumin seeds, green chilies, curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Now add onion. Fry till onions are translucent.
- Add chopped tomatoes. Fry till them become soft.
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder. Cook covered till oil separates from the gravy.
- Add moong & about 1 cup water.
- Close the lid again and cook till done.
- Add potatoes. Let it simmer again for 2 minutes. Switch off the heat.
Serving:
While serving, take some curry. Put some
dahi on it. Garnish it with finely chopped onion, tomato, coriander leaves & some farsan.
