Zunka Bhakri is a very popular & traditional Maharashtrian dish. The main ingredient of zunka is gram flour (besan). Zunka is very simple to make. It tastes delicious.
Today will share with you the recipe of Zunka !!
Ingredients:
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- Green Chili - Ginger - Garlic ground roughly 1 tsp
- Gram Flour (Besan) 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Oil 1 tbsp.
- Mustard seeds 1/3 tsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Turmeric powder 1/3 tsp
- Coriander leaves chopped finely
- Heat Oil in a non stick pan
- Add mustard seeds. When they pop, add green chili - ginger - garlic paste, asafetida, turmeric & some of the finely chopped coriander leaves. Give it a stir.
- Now add finely chopped onions. Let them turn translucent.
- Now add gram flour & mix properly.
- Cover with a lid & cook on low - medium flame for 10 minutes.
- Keep stirring in between to avoid gram flour sticking to the bottom.
- Add a splash of water if necessary.
- Garnish with coriander leaves.
You can enjoy Rice flour bhakri (Tandlachi Bhakri) along with it. Also some Mirchi cha thecha & Onions. A traditional Maharashtrian thali.
