Jal jeera is a great drink to cool down the temperature of your body. It is a very old Indian recipe. Jal means water & jeera means cumin. Jal jeera is basically a drink made from cumin powder. It is drunk before a meal or in between meals. It aids in digestion.
Here is my version of jal jeera.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- Mint Leaves 1/2 cup
- Coriander leaves 1/2 cup
- Black Salt 2 tsp
- Aamchur Powder 3 tsp
- Roasted Cumin Powder 3 tsp
- Black Pepper to taste (Optional)
- Lemon Juice 2 tbsp.
- Salt to Taste
- Ice cubes
- Water
- Soda Water
- Boondi for Garnishing
- Grind mint leaves, coriander leaves, black salt salt, aamchur powder & roasted cumin powder. Use water for grinding to form a smooth & a nice watery puree. Mix it with almost 2 cups of water.
- Add to it lemon juice & salt to taste. Mix well.
- In a glass add 1 or 2 ice cubes. Fill 3/4th of the glass with the ground mint coriander puree.
- & remaining 1/4th with soda water. Add black pepper to it for taste. It is optional.
- Garnish with boondi.
- You can add sugar also to it if you wish to.
- You can increase or reduce any of the ingredients according to your taste.
