Tandlachi Bhakri (Rice Flour Bhakri) is a very healthy option. It tastes great with any spicy curry. Zunka - Bhakri is a very traditional Maharashtrian Combo. You all must be aware of. I have already shared the recipe for Zunka. Today sharing the recipe for bhakri.
Ingredients:
- Rice Flour 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Water 1 cup
- Boil Water in a vessel or microwave.
- Mix salt to taste with Rice Flour in a mixing bowl.
- Add the boiling water to the rice flour & salt mix. Mix it well with a spoon. Don't use hands since the mixture might be very hot.
- Let the mixture rest for a while till it cools down a bit.
- When you can handle it, use your hands to form a soft dough out of the mixture.
- Sprinkle a splash of water if needed. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes atleast.
- Divide the dough into equal medium - sized balls.
- With a rolling pin, roll a flat 3 mm thick circle out of each dough ball.
- Heat a tawa.
- Place the rolled bhakri on the tawa.
- Brush the upper side of the bhakri with water.
- When the water dries out a bit from the top of the bhakri (say around 30 - 40 seconds), flip it.
- Let the bhakri roast for a minute or so till you see golden spots below (just pick with your hand & check for golden spots at the bottom).
- Now flip it again & let it roast till it puffs up like a puri. If it doesn't don't keep it on the tawa & wait. Remove when it is roasted from both sides.
- Roast each bhakri like this.
- Serve it with Zunka or Chicken Curry or Mirchi cha Thecha.
- Methi Thepla
- Home made Garlic Coriander Naans
- Dhaba Style Chicken Curry
- Simple & Quick Chicken Curry
- Egg Curry
- Crab Curry
- Masala Kumbh (Mushroom Masala)
- Mirchi ka Salan
- Buttermilk
