Dahi Vada is a very famous snack dish. It is very popular all over India. It is referred by different names in different parts of India. It is best to have in summers.

The dal vadas used in this recipe are generally made using urad dal. But I make it using moong dal. Below is the recipe.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup Moong Dal Soaked for 4 - 6 hours
  • Water
  • Oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 green chilies chopped very finely
  • Coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • Chaat Masala
  • Roasted cumin seeds powder
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Curd
  • Tamarind chutney
Method:

  • In a mixing bowl, take 2 tbsp. curd & 1 cup water. Mix well. Soak dal vadas in this curd mixture for around 10 - 15 minutes.
  • In another bowl, take 1 & 1/2 cup curd. Add 3 or 4 tsp sugar & salt to taste. Beat it well.
  • In a serving bowl, take 3 or 4 soaked dal vadas. Add the curd over it.
  • Sprinkle red chili powder, chaat masala, roasted cumin seeds powder & tamarind chutney over it.
