Its spicy sev. Its generally made during Diwali festival. Its made using gram flour. I gave a small twist to it. I added some minty flavor to it. Try for yourselves this version.
Ingredients:
- Gram Flour 3/4 cup
- Rice Flour 1/4 cup
- Salt to taste
- Red Chili Powder 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder 1 tsp
- Dried Mint leaves 2 tsp + a pinch
- Chaat Masala a pinch
- Ajwain 1/3 tsp
- Turmeric 1/2 tsp
- Water as required
- Oil
- Mix gram flour, rice flour, salt to taste, red chili powder, coriander powder, dried mint leaves, ajwain & turmeric powder. Mix well.
- Add water little by little to form a soft dough.
- Add 1 tsp oil. & give it a few seconds knead.
- Leave it to rest for 10 minutes.
- Give it a knead again.
- Heat oil in a kadhai.
- Prepare the sev mould by inserting the sev attachment. (Use fine or thick sev attachment). Fill the gram flour dough in sev maker mould.
- Press the dough in hot oil in circular motion.
- Fry sev till golden in color from both sides.
- Once done, remove sev on paper napkins.
- When it cools downs, keep in a airtight container.
- Sprinkle a pinch of dry mint over prepared sev.
- Sprinkle a pinch of chaat masala over prepared sev for more flavor. Its optional but tastes amazing.
